Underground Mining Cost Estimates

First Principles Calculations

Ripago Underground Mining Services generates underground mining cost estimates from first principles calculations. The inputs are associated with physicals, labour and plant costs specific to the project giving credibility and independency. These cost estimates are aligned to real mining costs and are generated from the perspective as if the work had been tendered by an underground mining contractor.

Independent Cost Estimates

Independent cost estimates are essential parts of any scoping or feasibility study. Generally those done in-house do not satisfy any independency requirements and do not reflect current industry pricing, knowledge and necessary resource types and levels. We provide the independency and therefore credibility with lenders or third parties.

Shadow Estimates

When going out to tender, it is also useful to build up a shadow bid from first principles early in the process. A shadow estimate built up from first principles provides a firm basis for comparison with later contractor quotes so that the client understands what drives the costs (or how the contractor priced the work) and puts the client in a much stronger negotiating position.
